ClinicsTEL: 01234 567890 Fax: 01234 567890 Antenatal Clinic Thursday 9.30-10.30amPatients are seen by the midwife at the clinics by appointment and also by the doctors during surgery hours. Baby Clinic Friday 11.00am-12.30pmThe baby clinics are run by Dr Elder for child developmental checks and immunisations and allow an opportunity to discuss other problems, eg sleeping, feeding and child health worries, with a doctor or health visitor. Asthma Clinic Monday 3.30-6.00pmThis is run by practice nurse Karen Cross in conjunction with the doctors, by appointment only. Diabetic Clinic Alternate Tuesdays 11.00am-1.00pmThis is run by practice nurse Sue Wareing in conjunction with Dr James, by appointment only. Family PlanningContraceptive care is provided by all the doctors during surgery hours. Well Woman Clinics Alternate Wednesdays 11.30am-1.00pmThis clinic is run by Dr James for smears, postnatal checks and discussion of women's health issues. Minor SurgeryDr Elder and Dr Read carry out minor surgical procedures at Ashton Gardens surgery by appointment and the doctors will be happy to advise you on this. Non-NHS ExaminationsThe doctors are happy to carry out medicals, eg insurance and driving licence, by appointment outside surgery hours. Please telephone the surgery for an appointment. Please ask at reception for the charges for these services. CounsellingA social worker is available for counselling on Friday mornings. Please ask your doctor for an appointment. Patients Over 75 YearsIf you are aged 75 years or over, you should be seen annually either by your doctor, the practice nurse, district nurse or health visitor. This can be arranged at the surgery or, if that is not possible, a home visit will be arranged. Travel Immunisations/VaccinationsPlease make an appointment at least eight weeks in advance of your holiday to ensure adequate cover. A charge will be made for certain immunisations and vaccinations which are not covered by the NHS. A list of these charges is held at reception. Flu VaccinationAn influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for patients with heart, lung or kidney disease or diabetes, and residents of nursing and rest homes. Please contact the reception staff in October for details of the vaccination dates and to make an appointment. If you are unable to attend the surgery, a home visit will be arranged to undertake this facility. Yellow Fever VaccinationsRed Bank is now an authorised Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre. Look After Yourself ClassesThe health visitors organise ‘Look After Yourself Classes’ which offer simple, safe exercises and advice on weight reduction. Enrolment on these courses should be made by telephoning the health visitors (684233). Children's Immunisation Schedule
