Introduction
Lee House is a residential home
for active elderly ladies, recognised by the London Borough
of Merton.
Set in the heart of Wimbledon
Village, the house was Lady Coggan's family home until 1965
when it was converted to its present use. In 1992/93 it was
fully modernised and extended with a new two storey wing.
It is a policy of Lee House
that no lady should in any way forfeit her independence, but
should continue to live a full and active life, with as many
outside interests as possible. Enjoyment of a community life
without intrusion on personal privacy is the theme of Lee
House.
A midday meal is provided in
the House dining room each day. Otherwise, the ladies run
their own lives; shopping in the village, and dealing with
their own finances.
The Superintendent and her friendly
support staff provide care and assistance as necessary, including
cleaning the rooms.
