Patient Participation Group
In December 2011 the Red Bank Surgery established an arrangement for patient participation through a Patient Participation Panel ("the Panel").
The purpose of patient participation is to ensure that patients are involved in decisions about the range and quality of services provided, and over time, commissioned by the Practice. In short, a way that you, a patient, can have your say.
Initially the panel was drawn together by invitation, from registered patients of the Practice; however, this changed over the next two years to become an all-elected Panel.
The Panel is made up of eight elected members serving for two years, half of which will be elected at each annual general meeting, from the patients’ registered at the Practice, and two non-voting Practice staff appointments.
The Practice believes that the creation of such an arrangement will ensure there is a systematic way for obtaining patient feedback and suggestions for improvement. An annual survey managed by the Panel will help the Practice make better use of its resources, improve communications and focus the services of the Practice to the particular needs of the patients of the Red Bank Surgery, or if a survey is not carried out, feedback given in other ways will be used to shape any action plans.
Please note a suggestion box, located in the reception, can be used for feedback or suggestions.
The current invited Panel members are:

Jennifer Harris - Secretary
In addition there are two non-voting members of the Practice staff who may be contacted via the Red Bank Surgery.
The Panel’s first task was to conduct a patient survey aimed at obtaining patients' views about their experiences of the Practice facilities and the Practice team.
The Panel is pleased to announce the results of the survey and the “Patient Experience Survey Report” is available below.

What is discussed at the meetings?
The agenda is driven by particular topics that the Practice or patients wishes to bring to the attention of others.
When are the meetings?
The meetings are quarterly, dates for meetings are decided at the meeting and are advertised on the PPG notice board and on this Practice Website.
Do I have to attend each meeting?
No you do not have to attend each meeting. Once we know that you would like to become involved you can decide for yourself exactly how much you would like to become involved. If you would just like to receive the minutes of the meetings then please pass on your contact details to the practice manager, you can have the minutes sent or simply view them on this Practice Website.
